Goa crime branch SIT has summoned former state home minister Ravi Naik's son Roy to appear before it after a House Committee report named him as an accused into an alleged nexus among politicians, police, and drug traffickers.
"Roy has been asked to remain present before the SIT on June 29 in connection with the inquiry initiated on the House Committee report on the drug nexus," Deputy Superintendent of Police Edwin Colaco, who heads the SIT, told PTI today.
He said the SIT would record statement of Roy.
The eight-member SIT was constituted in January this year to investigate the committee report of 2013.
The committee, headed by then Nuvem MLA Fransisco Micky Pacheco, had named Roy and other police personnel as accused.
In its report submitted to the state legislative assembly in October 2013, the Pacheco committee had indicted former home minister Ravi Naik, Roy, and several police officers from the rank of the state DGP to constable.

However, two members of the committee--St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo-- didn't agree with some aspects of the report and sent a note of dissent to the Speaker.
The alleged nexus came to light after Swedish model Lucky Farmhouse posted her boyfriend and alleged drug peddler Yaniv Benaim alias Atala's video clips in which the latter purportedly admitted his links with some police personnel.
Farmhouse and Atala were staying together in Goa at that time.
Five policemen, including then head of Goa Police's Anti-Narcotic Cell Ashish Shirodkar, had been arrested for their alleged links with the drug mafia.
Farmhouse had alleged that a son of a big politician was also part of the drug mafia.
