Drug smuggler Jagdish Singh Bhola has been sent to judicial custody by a court here after his six-day remand with the local police ended.
He was today sent back to the high-security Nabha jail after the local court sent him to judicial remand yesterday, police said.
The Phagwara police took him into custody in connection with the killing of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police Gurdev Singh on March 31, 2013. Local police officers, however, were tight-lipped about revelations made by him in the matter.
The investigating officer in the ASI murder case and SHO of Phagwara sadar police station, Sarwan Singh Bal, said Bhola was questioned by an officer of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) rank.
Bhola was arrest on November 11 last, along with his aides, for his alleged involvement in a multi-crore drug racket. In January, Bhola had said that Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majthia was also involved in the drug racket.
