Police arrested four persons including a Nigerian national and seized narcotic drugs worth Rs 16.64 lakh in separate cases in the city over the last two days, an official said.
Azad Maidan unit of the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of police arrested Asagar Ali Shaikh (42) by laying a trap in Kurla (West) area Wednesday night and allegedly seized 1 kg of charas (hashish), valued at Rs 5.75 lakh in illicit markets.
Bandra unit of ANC arrested Nigerian national Chinonso Udeogu (26), a resident of Nalasopara near Mumbai, in suburban Andheri Thursday. Party drug Mephedrone, also known as MD, worth Rs 5 lakh was allegedly seized from his possession.
28-year-old Laxmanan Rajan Pudukode alias Nikhil was nabbed by Worli unit of ANC from N M Joshi Road in Lower Parel area Thursday.
Pudukode had come to Lower Parel to distribute 81 LSD 'dot papers' worth Rs 1.62 lakh and 27 Ecstasy pills valued at Rs 77,700, an ANC official said.
He had been earlier arrested in 2017 and LSD had been seized from him. The seized drugs were sourced from European countries, the official said.
Salim Hakib Khan alias Salim Tempo (55) was arrested with 750 gm of charas worth Rs 3 lakh from suburban Malad Thursday by Kandivii unit of the ANC. He had been arrested in at least six drug cases earlier, the official said.
