An on-duty assistant sub-inspector of Delhi Police was injured after a car driven allegedly by a drunk student hit him early today near Panchsheel Park, police said.
ASI Harender, along with other police personnel, was on a picket duty near Panchsheel Park in south Delhi.
He was hit by the sedan driven by Harsh Vardhan, police said. Harender suffered fracture in his leg and hand.
According to police, another man, Shobit, was travelling in the vehicle with Vardhan and both were found drunk.
Vardhan, who is pursuing BBA from an institute in Vasant Kunj, was arrested and later granted bail.
The injured policeman is undergoing treatment at AIIMS.
