Dry spell continues in HP, mercury stays above normal at most

The dry spell continued in Himachal Pradesh even as mercury stayed above normal at most of the places.
Shimla, Dharamsala and Nahan recorded minimum temperatures at 12.6 degrees Celsius, 12.2 degrees Celsius and 12.9 degrees Celsius.
Keylong in tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti recorded a low of minus 1.7 degrees Celsius while Kalpa in Kinnaur and Manali in Kullu district recorded minimum temperature at 3.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 4.0 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 4.6 degrees Celsius, Una 7.3 degrees Celsius, Palampur 8.0 degrees Celsius and Solan 8.4 degrees Celsius.
Una was hottest during the day with maximum temperature at 28.7 degrees Celsius while Sundernagar and Solan recorded a high of 26.5 degrees Celsius and 26.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 24.8 degrees Celsius, Nahan 22.5 degrees Celsius, Shimla 22.0 degrees Celsius, Dharamshala 19.8 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 17.6 degrees Celsius.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region for next six days from tomorrow, adding to worries of farmers, waiting for rains after sowing the Rabi crop.
The Rabi crop would be adversely affected in rainfed areas in case it did not rain in the near future, farm experts said.
