A bench of Justice B D Ahmed and Justice S Mridul impleaded Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) as a party in the PIL to co-ordinate with the city police to formulate programmes to tackle the issue.
"DSLSA shall co-ordinate with the Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, to formulate further programmes so that objectives outlined in our earlier order are met at the earliest," the bench said.
During the day's hearing, the court directed DSLSA and police to co-ordinate with each other after perusing the status report filed by the agency stating measures taken in every district to tackle crimes against women.
The bench also said it will examine the entire status report on the next date of hearing on August 6.
It directed that a copy of the report as well as the crime-mapping done earlier be handed over to DSLSA so that they can verify the same.
