The incident was reported from Maurya Enclave last evening.
The victim has been identified as Shivam Kapoor, a BCom student who was missing since Tuesday night. The attackers had poured acid on the body.
Kapoor had left his house after dinner for a walk but he did not return home, his family said.
They told police that when the family telephoned him around 11 PM, he told them that he was in Vijay Vihar having ice cream. But when they tried again, police said, his phone was switched off.
His father is in stainless steel business in Malkaganj.
Investigators suspect that his friends could be behind the incident.
Three persons, including a girl, are being questioned in connection with the incident.
A case of murder has been registered.
