The accused, identified as Mohammad Farmood (55), a native of Darbhanga district of Bihar, was arrested after being booked under Sections 354A (advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC, said a senior police official.
According to the police, the incident was reported on August 26. The woman has a pet kitten which had run into the grocery shop adjacent to her rented accommodation. She lost track of the kitten, despite chasing it till the entrance of the shop. The owner of the shop later told her that he had last seen the kitten enter the store room of his shop.
The woman rushed out of the room and reported the matter at the police booth in the locality, the official added.
