Thirty one-year-old Kate is said to have applied to the Intellectual Property Office in the UK in order for her official title to be trademarked as part of the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
The foundation will be used to raise money for a variety of charities so it makes sense for Kate's title to have been trademarked to prevent the name being used illegally, the 'Daily Express' reported.
"This also protects the foundation against other people using its name illegally. We included clothing in case we choose, for example, to make T-shirts in years to come, for marathon runners, etc," the spokesman added.
The fans of the Duchess were hoping that this latest decision would mean that she was planning on designing her own clothing collection.
However, it seems this is not on her to-do list, especially as she is expecting her first child this Summer.
