Duet India Hotels setting up 3 more properties in country

Duet India Hotels today said it is in the process of setting up three more hotels across the country.
Holiday Inn Express - the 136 room property at the Old Mahabapalipuram Road was formally opened here today. It is owned by Duet India Hotels and managed by the hospitality major InterContinental Hotels Group.
"We have acquired nine hotel assets with 1,586 rooms, out of these six hotels with 1,012 rooms were already operational including four Holiday Inn Express, three are under various stages of development," Duet Hotels' President, Naveen Jain, told reporters here.
"Our initiative to drive foreign investment in the hospitality sector into India is proving to be quite successful. This is also a vote of confidence by the investing community on the team's rich hospitality experience," he said.
Talking about Holiday Inn Express here, InterContinental Hotels Group's Head of South West Asia, Shantha de Silva said, "this hotel marks the fourth IHG hotel in Chennai, which is an important city for us."
"The Holiday Inn Express brand is our biggest growth engine and we open on average two Holiday Inn Express Hotels per week globally," he said.
At present, there are 2,400 Holiday Inn Express hotels globally and it is planning to add another 600 hotels, he said.
