Duo arrested with heroin, fake currency

The duo, identified as Jassa Singh and Harpal Singh, were arrested by Special Operation Cell of Punjab Police.

Police said the consignment of heroin and fake currency was smuggled to India recently from Pakistan.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the IPC has been registered in this regard, they said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo were indulging in cross-border smuggling of heroin and fake currency and was delivering the same in Amritsar and Delhi.
