Duo kills friend who was witness in case against them

A 24-year-old man was killed allegedly by two of his friends as he was a witness in a case against them, in Ramanuj Dayal market here, police said today.
Circle Officer DSP Manisha Singh said Farman, a scrap trader, last night went to a fair at Ramlila Maidan here with his friends Shoaib and Talib.
Later, Farman's body was found lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit on the roof of the market at Ramte Ram Road, she said.
Police on receiving information recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem, Singh said.
Raees, the victim's father, told police that Talib, Shoaib, Shoaib's father, Salman, Rashid and Nadeem had thrashed his elder son over a petty issue seven months ago and Farman was the main witness in the case.

He alleged that Shoaib and Talib eliminated Farman from giving statement against him, the DSP said.
An investigation is underway in the matter, the DSP said.
