Several functions were organised across Jammu, where the effigies of the demon kings Ravana, Kumbkaran and Meghnath were set on fire by actors dressed up as Lord Rama and Lakhshmana.
"The main functions were held in Parade ground and the Dussehra ground in Gandhinagar, where the effigies of the demon kings were set on fire," a police officer said.
He said the function passed off peacefully and there was no report of any incident of violence or injury reported from any part of the region.
"The festival was celebrated in all the districts of Jammu region and the function passed off peacefully," the officer said.
