DUSU office bearers today protested against the authorities at Satyavati College alleging that they failed a student "deliberately".
"A student of the college was surprised to know when he saw that he has failed in a particular subject. On enquiring, he was told that he had not submitted an assignment, marks for which were deducted.
"The student, however, made claims to the contrary. To raise the issue, a group of students headed by DUSU Joint Secretary Mohit Nagar went to see the principal," DUSU President Mohit Nagar said.
The principal made a call to the PCR following which police officials rushed to the spot.
"We reached the spot and controlled the situation by dispersing the mob. There were no reports of anybody getting hurt," a senior police official said.
"As a preventive measure, the student leader was detained and later released. No official complaint has been registered in this connection," he added.
The college principal, Chandan Kumar, remained unavailable for comment on the issue.
