Dutch woman rescued from Dhauladhar mountains

A 63-year-old Dutch woman was safely evacuated today from a deep gulley in Dhauladhar range mountains into which she had fallen during a trek here, police said.
Vanees, a Dutch national had fallen down a gulley yesterday while on a trekking expedition.
Kangra police chief Sanjeev Gandhi said Vanees had been brought to safety from the trekking area near Triund where she had fallen yesterday.
"Josef, a friend of Vanees, had lodged a police report about Vanees missing after a fall," said Gandhi.
"A team led by police officer Pankaj headed out to the trekking accident site and after an overnight search found her safe today morning", he said.

She is recovering at the Dharamsala hospital, he added.
Vanees came to India in the month of January.
Triund, at an altitude of about 9,300 feet, is above McLeod Ganj, the seat of The Dalai Lama and the headquarters of the Tibetan government in exile.
