But for commercial generation to start, sufficient land is required for constructing a water corridor.
DVC director (projects) Debasish Mitra told PTI that the unit would be tested for 14 days as part of the full-load trial.
"For commercial generation, we have to wait till the water corridor is in place," Mitra said.
Asked when the DVC was expecting to begin commercial generation, Mitra said, "We do not have the land required to complete the water corridor."

DVC had been facing trouble in acquiring the land as there was no agreement on the terms of land to be ceded by the land-owners.
So far the DVC has been able to complete 6.5 km of the 10 km water corridor linkage with the plant.
The second unit with the same installed capacity of 600 MW could also be synchronised over the next six months. The company has a second phase plan of 1320MW (600mwx2).
