A deputy executive engineer of Srikakulam Municipal corporation was arrested today after ACB officers found him to possess assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, estimated at crores of Rupees.
Director General of Anti Corruption Bureau, R P Thakur said Anti Corruption Bureau officials raided the residence of Gottumukkala Srinivasa Kumar and his relatives at 10 places, including in this city, Srikakulam, Bheemavaram and Palakollu today.
The seized assets include cash, gold,land holdings and houses, estimated to be around Rs 1.64 crore as per the registrationvalue (document value). But it would easily be in excess of Rs 20 crore as per the market rates, he said.
Thakur said the assets include a 1,085 square foot flat at Seethammadhara here and 6.82 acres of agriculture landat Kovvali village in West Godavari district.
The assets seized in the name of his wife, daughter, mother and other relatives include a plot in this city, three vacant sites in Bheemavaram of West Godavari and about 24 cents of agriculturalland in Kovvali village, he said.
Apart from the immovable properties, ACB sleuths also seized moveableproperties, including two two-wheelers, 423 grams of gold ornaments, 1,548 grams of silver, Rs 12.27 lakh cash from the homes and Rs 5.45 lakh cash from the bank.

Two lockers in the name of his wife were yet to be opened, Thakur said.
Kumar had joined as Works Inspector in the Municipal Administration and Urban Development aroundthree decades back for a modest salary and rose to Deputy Executive Engineer in 2017, they said.
He allgedly used to get hugebribes for allocating the works to contractors.
Kumar will be produced before the ACB Special Courttomorrow, they said.
