Dy Manager of pvt bank arrested for financial irregularities

A deputy manager of a private bank here was arrested from Uttar Pradesh for alleged financial irregularities, police said today.
The deputy manager, identified as Olivia Dutta Choudhury, was working at the Paltanbazar branch of IndusInd bank here.
"We have produced her in the Court today. We have sought remand for seven days," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Panbazar) Suprotive Lal Baruah said.
The Court gave four days' of police remand of Choudhury.
Under Baruah's leadership, a team of Guwahati Police tracked Choudhury for two days and nabbed her from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh on August 7.
"As per our preliminary investigation, she herself withdrew around Rs 60 lakh cash before fleeing from Guwahati.
Besides, she has committed financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 3.7 crore in the accounts of at least six customers of the bank," the police official said.

Meanwhile, an IndusInd Bank Spokesperson said the services of the employee has been terminated and a police complaint has been filed against her.
"The bank has come across a suspected case of fraud in Guwahati main branch, in which a bank employee involvement is being investigated.
It is assisting the police and relevant authorities in its investigations," the Spokesperson said in a statement.
