E-governance initiatives should be on faster mode:Narayanasamy

Union Minister V Narayanasamy today said e-governance initiatives should be on a 'faster mode'.
"The Union government will not shy away from helping the states. E-Governance which started 10 years ago, is staggering and it should on a faster mode," the Minister said at the valedictory function of the National e-Governance conference, which concluded here.
Narayanasamy, who is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, stressed the need for implementation of the administrative reforms in right earnest in all states.
E-Seva Kendra had been adopted in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and in Kerala. However, in some states, the e-governance programmes were very slow, he said.
Kerala Governor, Nikhil Kumar gave away various National e-governance awards to the winners, including 'Mee Seva' of the Department of IT, Andhar Pradesh government.
Nikshay, a web-based solution for monitoring of TB of the National Informatics Centre and Effective Seismological Monitoring through e-governance to save lives and damage due to earthquakes by the Gujarat government.
