"E-governance is right initiative to ensure prompt service delivery. It is also needed to bring transparency and responsiveness in the administration to attend the needs of people on development count," Omar said today.
The chief minister said that his government's focus on IT and ST sectors is yielding encouraging results.
He said that the process of change in the functioning of government departments, through IT initiatives, and e-governance measures would bring revolutionary turnaround in the system.
Reviewing work in the departments of Information Technology and Science Technology at a high level meeting, the Chief Minister gave nod to the digitalisation of cabinet records and approved Rs 40 lakhs for the purpose.
"The Planning and Development department should look for working out a viable and befitting strategy in this regard," he said.
