"The office under the police department will implement the project fully by July 1 and on the basis of the outcome, it will be implemented in other government departments in the state," Sharat Kaviraj, SP-SCRB, who is also the nodal officer for the project in Rajasthan, told PTI.

A team from the NIC was in the SCRB office to collect data so that the system can be executed according to the plan.

The e-Office project is a package of knowledge management system, file management system and collaborative tools, and by implementing these, the office will be paperless and increase efficiency and transparency, he said.

All the important circulars, policy regulations, guidelines and departmental letters and orders will be available in electronic format for quick references.

Movement of files will be easier to monitor and ensure transparency, he said, adding that the project will be implemented in other departments at later stages.

"The NIC team gathered necessary inputs, departmental data and other information so that the project can be run here by July," another police officer said.

The project aims to improve productivity, quality and transparency in the government offices.
