"From April 2013, all nutrition supplies will be procured through e-tendering. It has been made mandatory for procurement of nutrition in the Social Welfare Department (SWD)," minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo said here while addressing a high level meeting of the department.
"It would be implemented in the department to ensure transparency at all levels," Itoo said.
She said that besides this it was also decided that in order to check the quality and quantity of the nutrition supplies, a monitoring committee will be constituted at district level, comprising of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), district programme officer and Deputy Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) of the concerned district.
She also asked the officials to make the delivery of old age pension promptly and in a hassle-free manner.
