"This is one of the long pending demands of the people of Doimukh assembly constituency in particular and Papum Pare district in general," government Spokesman Bamang Felix said in a statement here today.
The necessity for the upgradation was felt due to the importance of Doimukh as a nerve-center of the community residing in the region since years, he said adding, the Doimukh administrative center being one of the sensitive areas along the Assam-Arunachal boundary, the need was further accepted by the state government.
Meanwhile, preparations are on full swing for inauguration of the newly upgraded SDO administrative center in the first week of November next by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
