Spanish officials say a magnitude-3.7 earthquake near the small southern city of Lorca has shaken buildings and prompted school evacuations.
It comes nearly five years after Lorca was hit by Spain's most devastating earthquake in more than 50 years.
Spain's National Geographic Institute said the earthquake happened just before noon yesterday.
Its epicenter was in Aledo, about 10 kilometers (six miles) from Lorca.
Schools in Lorca were evacuated as a precaution but officials said there were no reports of injuries or property damage.
An unusually shallow magnitude-5.1 quake hit Lorca on May 11, 2011, killing nine people and leaving nearly 300 injured. The earthquake also caused millions of euros (dollars) in damage.
