Mentha oil prices declined by 0.47 per cent to Rs 947.30 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions, driven by a fall in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November month fell by Rs 4.50, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 947.30 per kg in business turnover of 268 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in December month contracts shed Rs 1.60, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 960 per kg in 33 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to easing demand from consuming industries in spot market against ample stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
