The eatery owner, identified as Kuldeep Singh, was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre following the incident that took place last night at around 10:30 PM. His condition was reported to be stable.
Police have identified a few of the accused persons and a team is searching for them. A case under relevant sections has been registered at Safdarjung Enclave police station in this connection, said a senior official.
A heated argument then ensued as Singh refused to accept the claims by the group of diners in question.
During the argument, a few men in the group left, but the ones who were still arguing with Singh then called up their friends. Within minutes, a few more men had joined them and they allegedly started thrashing Singh. Once Singh collapsed, they damaged his eatery and left.
