eBay India launches initiative to promote mobile commerce

eBay India today announced the launch of its 'Deals@10PM' initiative, aimed at helping more people shop online using their mobile phones.
Available between February 26 to 28, eBay will offer mobile only deals across different products categories like perfumes, watches, audio accessories, auto accessories and video games from 10 PM to 12 midnight, eBay said in a statement.
"A survey conducted last year indicated that 78 per cent shoppers prefer shopping on mobiles to get great deals on purchases and 45 per cent shoppers said they accessed shopping sites only at night. On eBay India, 24 per cent of all customers visit via a mobile device," eBay India Head Mobile Commerce Santosh Rao said.

Intel India inks MoU with NCSM for innovation-based learning * Global chip giant Intel has collaborated with the National Council of Science Museums to promote the culture of research among students in India and building innovation resources.
As part of its National Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Acceleration Programme, Intel India has signed an agreement with the NCSM to collaborate on various initiatives, including setting up of a 'Galileo Corner' at select NCSM innovation centers.

Such a hub will give students' access to the Intel Galileo Development Board to help them build prototypes for their ideas for smart devices.
"We have introduced this programme to seed future innovation generations by investing in STEM-based learning and discovery. Our partnership with the NCSM will strengthen the research culture for students across the country," Intel APAC Regional Director Corporate Affairs Anjan Ghosh said.

Spice launches super slim Android phone for Rs 5,499 * Spice Retail today launched its 4.5-inch Android smartphone Smart Flo Poise for Rs 5,499.
The 8.7 mm super slim dual SIM smartphone is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and 1.3 GHz dual core processor. It has a 3.2 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1.3MP front camera. It has a 512 MB RAM, expandable upto 32 GB and a 1450 mAh battery, a company statement said.

Luminous joins hands with TERI
* Luminous Power Technologies and TERI have announced their collaboration for working together on facilitating access to energy for rural households.
In 2008, TERI initiated its widely acclaimed 'Lighting a Billion Lives' campaign in which close to 1,00,000 solar lanterns are already in use benefiting nearly 1.3 million lives across India.
The campaign is promoting small and micro enterprises with a focus on energy and a network of Energy Enterprises is set up across 16 states in India.
