With the Lok Sabha polls over in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has told the respective governments to continue with their ongoing projects.
Several projects and schemes of the Delhi government were put on hold because of the imposition of model code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections.
"In the states/UTs of NCT of Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh where polling have been completed, the Commission has decided to allow the following activities, except in such districts where repoll if any is pending.
"Review and implementation of ongoing programmes in the field, review with field officers except for the officers who are on election duty, tour of ministers outside the state or country are allowed" said the circular issued recently.
Various projects including outer ring Road project, making Vikaspuri to Wazirabad signal free, purchase of DTC buses, urban extension of roads and construction of new court premises at DDU Marg were put on hold due to elections.
