Election Commission of India's Director General (Expenditure), P K Dash today held a video conferencing from Delhi with Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad and districts' electoral, police and Nodal Expenditure Officers and asked them to be vigilant about expenditure being made by the candidates.
He said the maximum limit of expenditure to be done by candidates in the state assembly elections is Rs 28 lakh.
Dash, according to an official release here, also directed them to keep a check on purchase and distribution of liquor in an unauthorised manner or any money being given to people to get favours.
He directed the officers to keep record of expenditure made by the candidates during elections in "Shadow Registers" so that it could be verified with the registers being used by the candidates for maintaining their record.
The Deputy Commissioners and police officers of all districts informed the Dash about the necessary arrangements made by them in view of the elections next month.
