Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma today visited Ayodhya to inspect the proposed site for setting up the museum, a move seen as an attempt to woo pro-Hindutva elements ahead of assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
Sharma said Ayodhya's development will get a big push from the Rs 150 crore allotted for developing the museum, which is to be located 15 km from the site where the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992, triggering communal riots across the country.
