The Election Commission will seek a report on Thursday from concerned authorities on BJP's Gauhati candidate Queeen Oja allegedly giving "false information" about her educational qualification in the affidavit, an official said.
A senior official of Election Commission told PTI on Wednesday that the Chief Electoral Officer has taken note of the reports of Oja allegedly giving "false information" in the affidavit, which was filed on Monday.
"We have decided to seek a report tomorrow from the district election officer on the issue," he added.
Oja had submitted her highest educational qualification as "Higher Secondary from Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University in the year 2011".
When contacted, KKHSOU Vice Chancellor Hitesh Deka said the varsity does not offer any higher secondary or 12th standard course.
"We do not have any such course. No open university in the country offer higher secondary course," Deka said.

He, however, informed that Oja did a Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) in 2011-12 and took admission in the degree course, but did not continue.
While contesting the 2011 Assembly elections from the Gauhati East constituency as an Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate, Oja had mentioned her academic qualification as "matriculation in 1968" from Panbazar Girls High School.
Oja, on the other hand, stood by all the information provided in her affidavit and smelled a conspiracy by Congress in this controversy.
"I have not provided any false information. You will get to know all the truth on the day of scrutiny. Congress is losing in Gauhati and that is why spreading these rumours," Oja told PTI.
For the Gauhati seat, the Election Commission has fixed April 4 as the last date of filing nominations, April 5 for scrutiny, April 8 for last date of withdrawal and April 23 for the polling.
Congress' Bobbeeta Sharma, who is contesting against Oja in Gauhati Lok Sabha seat, said: "She is a candidate in the prestigious Gauhati seat. Everybody looks up to the Gauhati MP as role model. It is sad that she gave false information.
