The fair, which began at Pragati Maidan here on November 14, concluded today.
It was for the first time that no diesel gensets were used to power an event of this magnitude, a spokesperson of power distribution company BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL), said.
"With no cushion of any back-up gensets, BRPL had the sole responsibility to ensure uninterrupted power supply, at the right voltage and with no fluctuation, for the event. The entire exercise managed to save 1.27 lakh litres of diesel," Amal Sinha, CEO, BRPL said.
Use of diesel gensets was banned on October 18 by the Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) in Delhi-NCR region in view of severe levels of air pollution.
The trade fair organisers India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) had a sanctioned load of 5.95 MW. A BRPL team worked overtime to energise a temporary connection of additional 3 MVA at the venue, the BRPL spokesman said.
