Eco-friendly transport service launched in Gurgaon

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today launched an eco-friendly transport service, which will provide a sustainable and professional last mile connectivity service for Gurgaon.
The 'Smart-E' transport service will be provided at key metro stations and other high-footfall areas like corporate parks, shopping areas and residential colonies in the millennium city, an official release said.
The vehicles are fully 'Made in India' with an integrated CCTV camera, GPS tracking and other prominent safety features. The vehicles will also have a 'Digital Metering App' to ensure accurate and transparent pricing for the passengers based on the distance they travel in the vehicle, it said.
Treasure Vase Ventures (TVV) will also shortly introduce an app that will allow passengers to book seats in advance for greater convenience.
The first batch of 50 'Smart-E' service will comply on M G Road metro station, Sikanderpur metro station, Cybercity, DLF Phase 2 and 3, among other high footfall areas. The company plans to introduce another 100 'Smart-E' vehicles by April and increase the fleet size to 500 by mid-year and 1,000 by year-end to cover all areas in Gurgaon, release said.
"Citizens of Gurgaon are facing a serious challenge when it comes to safe and reliable last mile transport connectivity. Launch of Smart-E is a step in helping the city address that challenge," Manjul Kumar, official spokesperson of Smart-E service, said.
