Investments mady by the Provident Fund Trust would continue without any change and the money would be invested in secured investment avenues having the guarantee of the union government, he told PTI here.
On the demand for increasing the pension paid to Provident Fund subscribers after superannuation, he said he was aware that the existing pension was very low and did not match the cost of living.
"I have been trying to push through the proposal to pay at least a minimum of Rs 1,000 but this move is being resisted by both the employers and the Finance Ministry on the plea that they would have to increase their contribution towards provident fund of the individual workers," Kharge added.
