ECoR cancels over two dozen trains due to heavy rains in TN

Over two dozen trains of East Coast Railway (ECoR) had to be cancelled due to breaches in tracks in the Southern and South Central Railway jurisdictions under the impact of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu.
While at least 25 trains originating from stops under ECoR's jurisdiction and heading southwards were cancelled today along with some trains passing through its jurisdiction, several others were diverted and partially cancelled, an ECoR release said here today.
Among the trains cancelled were 12846 Yeshvantpur- Bhubaneswar Express from Yeshvantpur, 17480 Tirupati-Puri Express from Tirupati, 12898 Bhubaneswar-Pondichery Express from Bhubaneswar, 18463 Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Prasanti Express from Bhubaneswar, 17488 Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Express from Visakhapatnam, 12842 Chennai-Howrah Coromondel Express from Chennai, 22604 Villupuram-Kharagpur Express from Villupuram, 12841 Chennai-Howrah Coromondel Express from Howrah, 22825 Shalimar-Chennai Express from Shalimar and 22807 Santragachhi- Chennai Express from Santragachhi.
Also to be cancelled were the 22642 Shalimar-Trivandrum Express from Shalimar, 12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail from Howrah, 12246 Yeshvantpur- Howrah from Yeshvantpur, 00839 Howrah- Chennai Suvidha Express from Howrah, 13352 Alleppey-Dhanbad Express from Alleppey, 12835 Hatia-Yeshvantpur Express from Hatia, 17481 Bilaspur- Tirupati Express from Bilaspur, 18638 Yeshvantpur-Hatia Express from Yeshvantpur, 02836 Ernakulam- Howrah Special from Ernakulam, 12863 Howrah-Yeshvantpur Express from Howrah, 12507 Tiruchirapalli-Howrah Express from Tiruchirapalli, 22643 Ernakulam-Patna Express from Ernakulam, 12840 Chennai-Howrah Mail from Chennai and 12864 Yeshvantpur- Howrah Express from Yeshvantpur, the release said.
It added that the 22878 Puri-Digha Express from Puri, 12841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express from Howrah, 17488 Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Express from Visakhapatnam would remain cancelled tomorrow, it said.
Apart from this, 22877 Digha-Puri Express scheduled to leave Digha on November 19 and 15630 Guwahati-Chennai Express scheduled to leave Guwahati on November 20 would also remain cancelled, it said.
Meanwhile, 22870 Chennai-Visakhapatnam Express, which was scheduled to leave Chennai today, was cancelled between the Tamil Nadu capital and Vijayawada while the 08574 Tirupati- Visakhapatnam Express scheduled to leave Tirupati today was cancelled between Tirupati and Vijayawada, the release added.
