The 'Don't' hitmaker has been placed at the top of the annual chart after it was announced that his second album x- which was released in June - had been the most downloaded record in the UK for 2014, reported Contactmusic.
"Absolutely buzzing to hear I've got the best selling album on iTunes this year," he said.
It's been a good year for the singer, as this revelation comes just days after his album was named as the most-streamed album in the world for 2014 on Spotify, with more than 430 million plays since it was released.
The iTunes chart revealed the best-selling singles from the past year, including Pharrell Williams' catchy hit 'Happy' as well as the Grammy Award-nominated track 'Rather Be' by Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne, which was also labelled as iTunes UK's pick for best song.
