Edible and non-edible oils decline on lacklustre trade

Refined palmolein also eased further on subdued retail offtake amidst lower Malasian advices.

In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold and castoroil commercial moved down following reduced demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures trade, castorseeds weakened further owing to poor export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnutoil went down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,180 from Friday's closing level of Rs 1,185 and refined palmolein edged down by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 650 from Rs 653.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold fell by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,225 from overnight close of Rs 3,250 and castoroil commercial slipped by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 675 from Rs 680 yesterday. Linseedoil were unaltered at Rs 770 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures, castorseed for June contract resumed lower at Rs 3,290 and drifted further to Rs 3,246 before ending at Rs 3,258 over its previous close of Rs 3,298, showing a fall of Rs 40 per tonne.
