The Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market today displayed a sluggish trend as prices of both edible and non-edible oils declined due to sluggish demand as well as adequate supplies.
Groundnut oil slipped further on reduced offtake from stockists and retail consumers, while refined palmolein eased on lack of domestic buying support coupled with weak Malaysian cues.
Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial fell back after a brief rebound owing to subdued demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.
Linseed oil maintained a steady trend in the absence of any demand from paint and allied industries.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil moved down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 775 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 780 and refined palmolein softened by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 533 against Rs 555.
Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold dropped by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 4,175 from Rs 4,200 and castoroil commercial fell by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 865 as compared to Rs 870 last weekend.
Linseedoil held stable at Rs 760 per 10 kg.
