Edible oils decline, non-edibles rule steady

Groundnut oil prices declined further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today following subdued demand from stockists and retailers.
Refined palmolein slipped owing to subdued offtake from retailers.
In non-edible segment, castor seeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil ruled steady in the absence of any large-scale buying activity.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil fell by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 800 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 810 and refined palmolein moved down by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 580 as against Rs 582 yesterday.
Moving to non-edible section, castor seed bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all ended unchanged at Rs 4,775 per 100 kg, Rs 985 and Rs 750 per 10 kg, respectively.
