Edible oils declines on reduced offtake

Meanwhile, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial recovered owing to fresh demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures trade, castorseeds ended almost flat amidst volatility on the back of reduced export enquiries.

In the edible-segment, Groundnut oil dropped by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,190 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,200 and refined palmolein slipped up Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 614 from Rs 616.

Turning to non-edible, castorseed bold gained by Rs 20 per 100 kg to Rs 3,220 from Rs 3,200 and castoroil commercial moved up by Rs 4 to Rs 674 from Rs 670 previously. Linseed oil ruled unchanged at Rs 730 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened higher at Rs 3,390 and later declined to Rs 3,360 before closing at Rs 3,383, as against Rs 3,384 yesterday, showing a mere loss of Rs 1 per tonne.
