Refined palmolein also slid owing to lack of retail buying support on the back of bearish Malasian cues.

In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil held steady in the absence of any major buying.

In futures trade, castorseeds maintained its downtrend due to speculative selling amidst lack of export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnutoil dipped by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,170 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,180 and refined palmolein went down by Rs 8 per 10 kg to Rs 642 from Rs 650.

Turning to futures, castorseed for June contract resumed slightly lower at Rs 3,255, but later moved up to Rs 3,275 before sliding back to close at Rs 3,216 over its previous close of Rs 3,258, showing a fall of Rs 42 per tonne.

Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,225, Rs 675 and Rs 770 respectively.
