Edible oils drop on lower demand

Groundnut oil prices dropped at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid fresh arrivals.
Refined palmolein also slipped due to reduced offtake from retailers.
While, in non-edible segment, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial firmed up further on consistent demand from shippers and soap industries.
Meanwhile, linseedoil held steady in the absence of any major buying activity.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil fell by Rs 15 per 10 kg to Rs 760 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 775, and refined palmolein declined by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 635 from Rs 640.
Moving to non-edible segment, castoroseeds bold gained by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 4,000 from overnight close of Rs 3,975 and castor oil commercial added by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 830 as against Rs 825 previously. Linseedoil remained unchanged at Rs 845 per 10 kg.
