Edible oils ease on muted trade

Refined palmolein also softened owing to poor retail offtake.

Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial continued to trade listless and ended almost level.

Linseedsoil held steady in the absence of any major buying activity.

In futures, castorseeds recovered modestly due to renewed speculative demand amid fresh export orders.

In the edible section, groundnut oil eased by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,175 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,180 and Refined palmolein inched down by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 516 from Rs 517.

Turning to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold slightly down by a rupee per 100 kg to Rs 3,475 from Tuesday's close of Rs 3,476 and castoroil commercial closed unchanged at Rs 725 per 10 kg.

Linseedoil also finish unaltered at Rs 810 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures, castorseed December resumed higher at Rs 3,700 and rose to Rs 3,735 before settling at Rs 3,711 as compared to Rs 3,687 previously, showing a gain of Rs 24 per tonne.
