Edible oils ease on reduced demand

Refined palmolein also softened on reduced retail offtake.

In the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil held steady in the absence of any major buying activity.

In futures trade, castorseeds recovered moderately owing speculative offtake on the back of fresh export orders.

In the edible section, groundnutoil declined by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,190 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,195 and refined palmolein looked down by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 627.

Moving to futures, castorseed for June contract resumed higher at Rs 3,090, and surged further to Rs 3,115 before ending at Rs 3,103 as compared to Rs 3,070 previously, showing a gain of Rs 33 per tonne.

However, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,150, Rs 660 and Rs 770, respectively.
