Groundnut oil prices fell in an otherwise listless oils and oilseeds Vashi Wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockist and retailers amidst adequate arrivals from producing regions.
Refined palmolein maintained its downtrend owing to weak demand from retailers amidst lower Malaysian cues.
In the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed all ruled stable in the absences of any worthwhile buying activity.
In futures market, castorseeds for September contract firmed up further on good speculative demand amidst higher export enquiries.
In the edible section, groundnut oil declined by Rs 10 per 10kg to Rs 970 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 980 and Refined palmolein also moved down by Rs 2 per 10kg to Rs 530 as compared to Rs 532 previously.
Moving to futures, Castorseeds September contract resumed higher at Rs 3,830 and moved in a range of Rs 3,842 and Rs 3,805 before settling at Rs 3,828 from Rs 3,815 previously, showing modest gain of Rs 13 per tonne.
Turning to non-edible segment, Castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,550 per 100 kg, Rs 740 per 10 and Rs 740 per 10kg, respectively.
