Edible oils firm up on sustained demand

Groundntnut oil prices rose at the Vashi oils and oilseeds Wholesale market here today on sustained demand from stockists and retailers amid fast approaching festivities.
Refined palmolein also firmed up on surge in retail buying.
In the non-edible segment, Castorseed bold and castor oil commercial also gained owing to rising demand from shippers and soap industries.
Linseed oil held steady in the absence of any largescale buying.
In futures trade, castorseeds September contract climbed further on steady speculative demand amid higher export enquiries.
In the edible segment, groundnutoil climbed by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 980 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 980 and refined palmolein added Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 525 from Rs 522 previously.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold advanced by Rs 40 per 100 kg to Rs 3,475 from overnight close of Rs 3,335, castor oil commercial went up by Rs 8 per 10 kg to Rs 725 from Rs 717 and Linseed oil held unchanged at Rs 730 per 10 kg.
Moving to futures, castorseeds September contract resumed higher at Rs 3,456 and shot-up further to close at Rs 3,502 from Rs 3,440 yesterday, showing a gain of Rs 62 per tonne.
