Edible oil prices today drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market owing to slackened demand from retailers against sufficient supplies from producing belts.
However, non-edible oils moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said low demand from retailers against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly led to the decline in edible oil prices.
In the national capital, cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) and mustard expeller (Dadri) oils eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,500 and Rs 7,400 per quintal, respectively.
Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils fell by a similar margin to Rs 5,500 and Rs 5,350 per quintal.
Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) also eased by Rs 100 to Rs 4,100 per quintal.
