Edible oils surge on rising demand

Groundnut oil surged at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today due to rising demand from stockists and retailers.
Refined palmolein also rose slightly on retail buying support.
In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial ruled steady in the absence of any large scale buying activity.
However, Linseed oil declined following lower offtake from paint and allied industries.
In the edible section, groundnut oil rose by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 930 from Friday's closing level of Rs 925 and refined palmolein edged up by a Re per 10 kg to Rs 528.
In the non-edibles, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial closed unchanged at Rs 2,975 per 100 kg and Rs 625 per 10 kg, respectively.
Linseed oil dipped by Rs 20 per 10 kg to Rs 840 as compared to Rs 860 previously.
