EDMC seals 7 factories in Karawal Nagar area

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation today sealed seven factories in Karawal Nagar area for allegedly violating pollution norms amid huge protest against the units by locals.
The action was taken with the help police. Three factories were vacated by their owners themselves, said a senior EDMC officer.
The civic body officials also demolished illegal construction and commercial activities in residential areas of Ghoanda and Brahmpuri in Shahdara (North) zone.
Two shops each were sealed at 100 Foota Road and Netaji Subhash Marg for running commercial activities without paying conversion charges. Five shops were sealed in Dilshad Colony for same reason, the official said.

The drive was carried out by the building department of the municipal corporation.
