Interacting with members of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council's sanitation committee this evening, Zeliang said the church, being an influential centre of Naga society, should educate the people to cooperate with the government for achieving progress and prosperity for all.
"The church can be a good platform to educate the people about civic sense and responsibilities," he said as he spoke of shopkeepers and builders throwing garbage and building materials on roads, blocking traffic and drains.
"We have to go for reconstruction of the existing city since we cannot expect to widen the roads. We have to make the best with the means at our disposal and the cooperation of the city-dwellers is a must," he added.
